PET CONNECT
This prototype of a digital app was created as a part of a project I undertook during university. The entire process took place over a 3-week period where I performed various UX design practices, including conducting user research, creating personas, wireframing, creating the interface using Sketch and finally, bringing the prototype to life using Proto.io.
What is Pet Connect?
Pet Connect facilitates social connections between pets and pet owners in a localised area. Discover pet owners in your local area, follow them to keep up to date with their furry companions and discover their favourite places to take them. Message other pet owners to meet up, and you and your doggy can make new friends in fun new places.

THE TATTOO TABOO
Another project I took part in during my studies was creating a prototype for an online documentary, which took form as an interactive website called The Tattoo Taboo. Through this process I took part in conducting interviews for content, wireframing, building all visual screens using Sketch and creating the webpages using Hype.
What is The Tattoo Taboo?
The Tattoo Taboo is a web-based documentary that explores Western societies’ biases and prejudices against tattoos. Many tattooed individuals experience difficulties in everyday life and workplace discrimination due to the overwhelmingly negative connotations of tattoos, particularly for women. The Tattoo Taboo argues that tattooing, is not necessarily a sign of rebellion or fashion trends, but a cultural and social expression of one’s self. By integrating interactivity through video, text and images, The Tattoo Taboo provides a collection of stories behind the tattoos of different individuals, and hopes that a deeper understanding of their personal experiences and choices will change society’s harsh perceptions of tattooing. The documentary utilises a non-linear navigational structure to allow users to navigate between personal memoirs and factual data to create a well-rounded, multimodal learning experience.

INTERFACE
The Tattoo Taboo utilises a combination of audio, video and written media, organised into an online archive to assist navigation, usability and create a multimodal user experience. Through my research, I observed that many websites for tattoo studios and artists were crowded, with dark colour palettes. In particular, there is often intimidating typography, especially Old English fonts, reminiscent of traditional text styles in tattooing. In designing the interface for The Tattoo Taboo, a documentary that aims to subvert traditional misconceptions about tattooing, I sought to contrast this dark, intimidating aesthetic and create a minimal and clean website.

We interviewed 4 individuals for the documentary, dedicating one page to each person's story. Playing with form was a very important aspect of the project, as we sought to tell each interviewee's story through a different medium, including poetry, film, and photo stories. Every story was also accompanied with a written research piece exploring a different theme relating to each participant e.g. cultural ramifications of tattoos, women in tattooing etc.
